In chapter 15, David wakes up from being unconscious, to see Sophie his old friend beside him. She takes car of him and brings him to her cave. It makes me really happy to know that they get to see each other again. David explains to Sophie about his telepathy power and he tells her about how Petra and Rosalind are captured right now. Sophie helps David get them back and David is very grateful. In the next chapter it begins with Sophie getting mad at Rosalind because she isn't infertile and because Gordon wanted her instead of Sophie. David keeps in contact with Michael and he explains that his group of men are getting closer and David explains that Gordon's men are coming closer as well. They also keep talking to the Sealand woman and she also says she is almost there. Finally Gordon's men and Michael's men meet and they get into a fight, but then the Sealand woman comes down in one of those fish shaped air craft that David dreamt of and she spreads a spiderweb-like substance that captures everyone. She eventually comes and saves Michael, David, Rosaline and Petra, and she explains that everyone else is dead. She then tells them that they should leave but Michael wants to go back for Rachel but the woman says there isn't enough fuel to get there so Michael chooses to go to Rachel instead of the new city. when they get to the city they are awed by all the people like them and they are so excited to meet them all.
This was a really good book and I enjoyed it even though I didn't think I would. I was a little confused by the end why the Sealand lady had killed everyone because that was a lot of people to kill, it was also cute how Michael didn't want to go with out Rachel. We also see just how strong Petra is because we learn that she can understand peoples 'behind-thinks' which are almost like peoples thought so its cool to see that she can read peoples thoughts.

chapters 13-14
In chapter 13, David, Rosalind, and Petra are still traveling towards the fringes and Petra is still talking to the people from Zealand. As they are traveling they hear gunshots and the horses run for cover in a spooky forest. They think they are safe until they are captured by some fringes people. In chapter 14, we once again meet David's mysterious long armed friend, who turns out to be David's uncle, who is not so friendly. David's uncle Gordon is very mad at the people of Waknuk because they kicked him out as a young boy and he is still planning to get his revenge. Meanwhile Gordon wants Rosalind and Petra for breeding purposes and David doesn't like that so he punches him in the face, which gets David beaten up and thrown out of there. In the beginning I thought that the spider man was going to be a friend to David, now I really don't like him and I hope David beats him up some more. I also wonder what David is going to do know that he has been Kicked out and Rosalind and Petra are captured.

chapters 11-12
In chapter 11, it starts of with Petra calling for help (telepathically) because she ran of into the woods with her pony and a beast was going to eat her. David ran to help, but so did all the other telepathy speakers. This was the first they had all met in person and it was strange. After that David trys to teach Petra how to mind speak because when she does she makes it very painful for everyone. Petra then asks David who the far away people and David doesn't know because he can't hear them. I think that that Petra's ability is a lot stronger than anyone else's, so strong that she can speak to other people far far away. In chapter 12, David, Rosalind, and Petra have to run away because some people have found out about them. they take the big horses that were Rosalind's father and they run away. Petra trys to talk to the far away people and the have some success, but not enough. They find out that the people Petra are talking to live in David's dream city. Michael then tells them that there are people looking for them and that they found their trail so they quickly have to move and get to the fringes. I hope that David and Rosalind make it to safety and I'm excited to see if they will ever meet the people from David's dream.

chapters 9-10
In chapter in 9, David is working in the fields and he feels a need to run, fast, to the river. Once he gets to the river he finds his little sister Petra drowning. Rosalind is also there because she felt the same urge to run to the river. David and Rosalind conclude that Petra has the same gift as them but it is a lot stronger. I think it is really cool that Petra has that gift, it's almost like she can control people with her mind. In chapter 10, Anne, one of the people who David can speak to, tells all of her telepathy buddies that she is planning on marrying Allan, the boy who tattled on Sophie. Everyone says she shouldn't do it for their safety but she is convinced that everything will be fine. Anne blocks them out and stops talking to them. One night Allan is killed and Anne suspects that the telepathy group did it so she writes a note to the inspector giving them away, then she commits suicide. Luckily Rachel, one of the members of the telepathy group and Anne's sister, finds the note and burns it. They all feel safe for now but I don't think it will last long. I am frustrated that Anne refuses to talk to any of her buddies and just assumes they murdered Allan. I get the feeling that David and his friends are going to have to run away very soon.

chapters 7-8
In chapter 7, David talks about the arrival of his sister Petra. He tells us that the whole family had to pretend that their mom wasn't pregnant for nine months just so that if the baby was a mutant no one would know. I think its crazy having to pretend about something like that. Also in this chapter Davids aunt comes for a visit with her baby but her baby had a deviation so Davids mother and father were outraged that she brought her baby into their house. Davids aunt Harriet did not want to give up the baby so she left the house but she was found dead in the river the next day. In chapter 8, Davids afraid about what might happen if someone ever finds out about his telepathy, he confides in his uncle who tells him everything will be okay. Also in this chapter David talks to his telepathy buddies and they all agree to share their names and where they live. I think that it's good they are learning about each other but it could also be bad if someone were to find out about them. These chapters show that David has a pretty tough life, his dad is horrible and his only friend has been captured.

chapters 5-6
In chapter 5, David and Sophie hang out a lot more and we start to see that there friendship is really strong. Sophie and David are playing in a stream when Alan, one of David's friends, sees Sophie's sixth toe. Sophie and David tell Sophie's father and thy end up needing to leave. they ask David to stay at there house for the night to give them enough time to get to the fringes. when david gets home the next day, his father has already found out about David hanging out with a deviation. David get severely punished and it makes you realize just how tough Davids father can be and how difficult his home life is. In the beginning of chapter 6, David is crying because Sophie's family got caught, this part shows just how much David cared for Sophie. I'm very disappointed that Sophie gets caught, I really hoped she wouldn't. Later in chapter 6, David expresses to his uncle Axel that he wants to run away and his uncle tells him that he should be very careful because there are a lot of dangerous places out side of Waknuk. I'm excited to see if David does choose to run away and if his uncle Axel will find the eighth telepathy speaker. In the end of chapter 6, uncle Axel is explaining to David that he might be closer to the image of God then everyone else. I'm glad that David has at least one person who cares for him in his family.

Chapters 3-4
In chapters 3 and 4 David tells us a story about his life at home. He explains that he had gotten a splinter and when his mother was bandaging it, David said he could have done it himself if he had three hands. His father was outraged that david had said that and he reprimanded him and made him get down on his knees and pray. I think that what his father did was a little overrated because David never wished for another hand but his dad had taken it that way. In chapter 4 David's uncle Axel finds out that David can speak to others through his mind and he warns David to never do it again or let anyone else find out about it. Also in this chapter there is an attack by the people of the fringes. Two of them are captured and one looks strangely similar to David's father. I think that later on in the book this will be important. I think it's really cool that David can speak telepathically and I don't think it should be a bad thing. The telepathy thing reminds me of superheroes with special powers which is super cool.
